I’ve earned my living from putting words together for more than a decade and have had six books published but I’m still learning. That’s one of the joys. You work at it, learn by your mistakes and, if you’re lucky, your successes too.

In the following pages you’ll find a little more about me and my books but, more important, about what lies behind the finished product – inspiration, research, the publication process – and a real-time commentary on the writing life. You might learn something from my hard-won and still developing experience. And if you choose to engage with this site about your thoughts, experience and worries about your own writing, the chances are that I’ll learn something too. So please feel free to contribute.
